According to The Sun and Forbes, the winner of America’s Got Talent becomes an instant billionaire. This is because the winner of the prestigious talent search show will receive a prize of $1 million or approximately IDR 15.5 billion (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 15,525/USD).
There are two options for the winner to receive their prize: they can either receive it over 40 years or as a lump sum in cash. In this case, the winner is given the freedom to choose one of these options.
If the winner chooses to receive the prize over 40 years, America’s Got Talent will pay them $25,000 or around IDR 388.1 million per year. On the other hand, if the winner opts for the cash prize paid all at once, they will receive $300,000 before taxes or approximately IDR 4.6 billion at the current exchange rate.
